Èlia Borràs (Celrà, 1996) holds a degree in Journalism from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB). Based in Burkina Faso as a freelance correspondent since 2022, she covers the Sahel region. She has contributed to El País, The Guardian, and Diari Ara, reporting on the armed conflict in the area, the resilience of its people, coups d'état in West Africa, as well as cultural expressions and the anti-colonial sentiment prevalent in the region. Her work was honored with the I Prize for Best Reportage by Africa Mundi (2022).
