Biography
I am incredibly passionate about the third sector, music, queerness, culture, the climate and so much more. I am currently a charity and positive news journalist at Smiley Movement, a not-for-profit associated with the original Smiley brand. I research and curate long-form and in-depth features, interviewing the likes of internet personality Hank Green, model and activist Yasmin Benoit and Michelin award-winning Chef Adam Simmonds, as well as writing news articles, listicles, guides and much more. I also help to organise and head up Media Partnerships and regularly come up with engaging and insightful ideas across various multimedia sources. I also regularly host panel discussions, write, film and edit TikTok videos, and help to run our social media such as Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and LinkedIn. I'm an extremely capable SEO journalist with a broad background writing about music, physical and mental health, queerness, fandom, environmental issues and other topics. I'm an incredibly proud member of the LGBTQIA+ community, and love supporting and engaging with my community through my work.

By Abi Scaife| Smiley News@ Her Royal Highness, The Princess Royal, has made her first visit to the Eric Liddell Community as its Royal Patron. Tell me more. The Eric Liddell is a registered care charity based in Edinburgh, providing specialist dementia care and preventing isolation in elderly people. It is named after the Scottish athlete and missionary Eric Liddell, whose legacy the charity upholds.
By Abi Scaife| Smiley News@ At Smiley News, our readers will know how we feel about the medium of film. Through the years that we have been running the Smiley Charity Film Awards, celebrating films created by charities, we have seen firsthand the impact such films can have on their audience. However, cause-based films aren’t the only films that have had an incredible impact on our society.
