Friday, April 18, is a statutory holiday in British Columbia, and BC Ferries says travellers should expect “very limited standby availability” during peak travel days, including Thursday and Friday for passengers heading to Vancouver Island, and on Sunday and Monday for people heading to the mainland.

BC Emergency Health Services tells CHEK News paramedics were called to the 3500 block of Shelbourne Street just after 12:20 p.m.Photos taken around 12:30 p.m. show two vehicles sprawled across both directions of Shelbourne Street near Pear Street, with firefighters and paramedics at the scene. One ambulance was dispatched to the scene, where two people were treated by paramedics.
