Biography

Adam Doster is a freelance writer based in Chicago. His work, often about sports and sporting culture, has appeared in The Atlantic, Sports Illustrated, Fast Company, ESPN the Magazine, the New York Times, Grantland, The Fader, Deadspin, Chicago, and Boston, among other publications. “Field of Schemes,” his 2014 feature on the Field of Dreams movie site in Iowa, was named a Livingston Award finalist in national reporting. Between 2008 and 2011, Doster reported for Progress Illinois, covering state and city government. In 2010, he was part of the editorial team that received a Studs Terkel Community Media Award. Before PI, Doster contributed frequently to In These Times, where he was named senior editor.
