• 平野紗季子と巡る、日本初のテレンス・コンラン展

  By Akiko Ichikawa| ELLE DECOR JAPAN@ 東京・丸の内の東京ステーションギャラリーで開催中の『テレンス・コンラン モダン・ブリテンをデザインする』。展覧会の「食とレストラン」コーナーでコンランと食に関してコメントを寄せている、フードエッセイストの平野紗季子さんと共に展示を巡り、改めてコンランの幅広い功績をたどった。「エル・デコ」2024年12月号より Hirotaka Hashimoto 日本では「ザ・コンランショップ」で知られるサー・テレンス・コンラン。実はショップ事業は彼の仕事の一部に過ぎない。デザイナーはもとより、レストランや出版業、都市開発までその功績はボーダーレスだった。『テレンス・コンラン モダン・ブリテンをデザインする』展は彼の活動をほぼ時系列に追い、平野さんが「絵、うますぎます……」と感嘆した子ども時代のドローイングからデザイナーになる前のことも解き明かされる。 ＜写真＞コンランの自邸にあったオフィスを再現した展示。デスクは現在奈良県在住の孫のフィリックス・コンランが制作した。 Hirotaka Hashimoto

• ニューヨークで注目を浴びる永田絵梨子の花の世界 | ELLE DECOR [エル・デコ]

  By Akiko Ichikawa| ELLE DECOR JAPAN@ 初めてのニューヨークで自分の可能性に気付いた フラワーデザイナー・永田絵梨子がニューヨークで起業したのは約8年前。現在クライアントにはグッゲンハイム美術館やニューミュージアムなどの美術館、「ディオール」や「ロエベ」などのメゾンの名が並ぶ。高い創造性を求めるクライアントばかりだ。 永田絵梨子 兵庫県出身。花の建築家とも称されるダニエル・オストの作品に感銘を受け、花の道へ。ザ・リッツ・カールトン東京などを経てヨーロッパで活動。2016年、ニューヨークで起業。 Instagram 東京やパリでキャリアを積んだが、起業はニューヨークで、と決めた。 「初めてニューヨークを訪れ、建築やインテリアを見た時に、現代的なものと伝統的なものがあって、それらが融合されているのが面白く感じました。ただ、花に関してはクラシックなアレンジが多く目に付き、そうではない自分のスタイルはチャンスがあるんじゃないかと感じたんです」 ＜写真＞スタジオはマンハッタンのフラワーディストリクトにも近い場所へ、5月に移転したばかり。テラスからはエンパイアステートビルも眺められる。
