By Al Pearce| Autoweek@ This week marks the 20th anniversary of the first of NASCAR Hall of Famer Carl Edwards' 28 Cup victories. The win came on March 20, 2005, at Atlanta Motor Speedway, and it was Edwards’s 17th career start in the Roush Racing-prepared No.99 Ford Taurus. The could easily be characterized as an upset victory since Jimmie Johnson and Greg Biffle combined to lead 307 of the 325 laps. Years ago and far away an elementary school substitute teacher longed to become a major-league stock-car racer.

Christopher Bell is going for No. 4 on Sunday at Las Vegas—a track at which he's yet to win in 10 starts. The folks in Norman, Oklahoma might want to hold up on that parade honoring one of their own Christopher Bell as NASCAR’s 2025 Cup Series champion. And maybe Joe Gibbs Racing shouldn’t be finding room for another Owner’s Championship trophy.
