As a child, I thought I wanted to be a veterinarian, but I was horrible at biology and seeing animals in pain made me cry. In junior high I wanted to be a novelist, but I was worried about the stability and feasibility of it — I was a very anxious 12-year-old. In high school, I decided I wanted to be a pediatrician but, spoiler alert, I was still bad at biology and seeing children in pain made me cry.
By Alana Lackner| Columbia Gorge News@ GOLDENDALE — On Feb. 5, after months of questions from the public, the Klickitat County Sheriff’s Office announced they were closing the investigation into Hannah Walker’s death as an accidental drowning. Though Klickitat County Sheriff Bob Songer stated in a press release that the investigation has been thoroughly reviewed by the office and multiple partners, Walker’s family are still left with questions and concerns as to the validity of the investigation.
By Alana Lackner| Columbia Gorge News@ THE DALLES — City Council met in their regular city council meeting on March 11, in which they discussed the possibility of re-adding a "TD" to a spot above Thompson Track, below the water tower by the hospital. According to The Dalles Booster Club President Anthony Pereira, who gave a presentation on the topic, when he was in high school, there used to be a large “TD” — and at some points just a “D” — in that spot on the hill.
