AJ Pennyfarthing is a founding member of Pennyfarthing & Dash Publishing, a boutique publishing group focused on giving progressive authors and satirical pundits an outlet for their work. In addition to his best-selling political humor series, Pennyfarthing published a political fairytale based on a fictional, closeted VP named Mike Ponce. The book is a rebuke of the controversial and scientifically debunked gay conversion therapy touted in real life by Republican Vice President Mike Pence. The book is hailed by the gay media for its positive and comedic portrayal of a gay politician triumphing over draconian GOP beliefs and the harmful repression tactics still practiced by some evangelicals today. Since 2017, Pennyfarthing has been a community blogger on the popular progressive website DailyKos.com. Prior to assuming the Pennyfarthing pen name, the author worked for more than three decades as a writer, editor, publisher, and journalist.
