Alexander Ayertey Odonkor is a global economist, business strategist and Ghana's leading China Expert. In April 2024 Alexander Ayertey Odonkor became the first and only Ghanaian economist to be invited to write commentaries on China's socio-economic development for China's Diplomacy in the New Era, the official website of China's President Xi Jinping. Prior to the invitation, Alexander Ayertey Odonkor had single-handedly authored more than one hundred and twenty (120) publications for China's biggest media organizations, covering all the key sectors and emerging industries of the Chinese economy, by far the highest for a Ghanaian and the entire African continent. Alexander Ayertey Odonkor is also the first and only Ghanaian economist to be quoted at the front page of several global editions by China Daily, China's biggest English-language newspaper. So far, Alexander Ayertey Odonkor has authored more than four hundred (400) publications including books, journal articles and commentaries. Alexander regularly appears in many widely read national and international newspapers and business magazines in over 170 countries and regions worldwide. Major international newspapers and magazines including Beijing Review, People's Daily, The Brussels Times, Monthly Review, China Daily and The Diplomat, just to mention a few, frequently publish Alexander's well-researched and insightful articles. Alexander Ayertey Odonkor's publications are also widely cited by quality research papers and reports across academia and industry. For example his column for the China Global Television Network (CGTN), titled ''Energy Consumption and CO2 Emissions in Southeast Asia'' is cited by several credible reports including the Asian Development Bank 2022 report on green transition and the 2023 OECD Economic Outlook report for Southeast Asia, China and India. Also, his column for CGTN, titled as ''Challenges and prospects in Southeast Asia's e-commerce market'' is cited by a 2022 dissertation for Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D) at the Georgetown University Law Center which is titled ''Harmonizing Pre-Contractual Information Duties: The Key to Developing Electronic Commerce in the ASEAN Economic Community'' From globally-renowned universities, including Nanyang Technological University and University of Michigan, to government organizations such as the British Council, China's National Forestry and Grassland Administration (NFGA) and the Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) - to international research organizations like the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) - Alexander Ayertey Odonkor's publications have been republished by these institutions, contributing in advancing scholarly work and informing public policy.
