The Huntington News is the independent student-run newspaper of the Northeastern University community. The News is the most frequently published and well-read publication on campus. It features campus, city, sports, lifestyle and opinion sections. Stories are published online weekly and a print issue is published every other Thursday during the fall and spring semesters. Breaking news is also available online. Founded in 1926, The Northeastern News was a university recognized student group and the student newspaper of Northeastern University. In the summer of 2008, it was announced The Northeastern News would go independent, forming what is now known as The Huntington News. Since then, the Huntington News has been the fully independent, student-run and operated newspaper of Northeastern University. At The Huntington News, more than 60 undergraduate and graduate students work alongside Northeastern alumni on our Board of Directors to maintain the high standard of quality the community has come to expect from its student newspaper.
