But last night, he was the center of attention. Beatty was shooting photos at the Knoxville Smokies home opener on April 15 when something unexpected happened: He was attacked by a trained bald eagle flying through the stadium. As the national anthem boomed through the brand-new Covenant Health Park, Lincoln, a 27-year-old bald eagle, performed one of his famous stadium flyovers.

That date marked the Smokies' first game in the brand new Covenant Health Park, their new home base. The Smokies returned to Knoxville and enthusiastic crowds after a 25-year tenure in Kodak, Tennessee.
