A shows they’re expected to plant more corn and fewer soybeans. Across the country, farmers will plant 95.3 million acres of corn, which is 5% more than last year. 83.5 million acres of soybeans are expected to be planted, down about 4% from 2024. Bailey Conrady, the Champaign County Farm Bureau manager, said economics play a big role in farmers deciding what to plant.
