Centro de Periodismo Investigativo

The Centro de Periodismo Investigativo (CPI) is an independent, non-profit organization based in Puerto Rico, established to enhance access to news and information through investigative journalism. Founded in 2007 or 2008, CPI is the only organization in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean dedicated solely to this field. Its mission is to ensure transparency and accountability in governance by providing oversight of powerful figures and institutions. CPI focuses on in-depth reporting on various critical issues, including political corruption, public policy, health, and climate change. The organization produces regular investigative reports, engages in litigation to defend public access to information, and offers training programs to develop journalistic skills. CPI publishes its work in both Spanish and English, contributing significantly to the media landscape in Puerto Rico. Under the leadership of Executive Director Carla Minet, CPI has received over 30 awards for its impactful journalism, including recognition for its role in addressing government corruption.
