Biography
I studied literature and theater at the University of Tennessee but immediately began working as a journalist after graduation. I moved to Chicago in 2012 and interned at In These Times magazine before freelancing for such outlets as the Guardian and Al Jazeera America. My beat was generally labor, homelessness, poverty, and social movements. In 2015 I moved to Germany where I continued to report and write book reviews for AlterNet, while learning German on the side. In 2016 I earned a place in Deutsche Welle's prestigious traineeship program and learned multimedia journalism for an international audience. I am currently a staff reporter in the DW's television newsroom.
