  • Town Square Thursdays return, with help from 'Downtown Bob' and friends

    By Amy Maginnis-Honey| Daily Republic Verified VACAVILLE — For more than a decade, Bob Vollmer's nickname was "Downtown Bob," serving as the executive director of the Downtown Vacaville Business Improvement District. He retired in 2017 and added "Music Man" to his moniker. A variety of downtown Vacaville businesses are sponsoring Town Square Music Thursdays, which kicks off this week with Casualties of Friendship. Vollmer plays in the band that was born when a group backed out of a downtown Vacaville performance at the last minute.
