Smith remains in Schuylkill County Prison unable to post $300,000 straight cash bail.

  • Longtime city solicitor retires

    By Amy Marchiano Verified| Republican Herald Verified POTTSVILLE — After nearly three decades on the job, city solicitor Thomas J. “Tim” Pellish announced his retirement at Monday’s Pottsville City Council meeting. Council voted to appoint Edward Brennan as the interim city solicitor, effective immediately. It is the first change in the position since Pellish started in 1995. Pellish also served on city council for 9 1/2 years prior to starting as solicitor. “It’s been nothing but a joy for me to serve my city,” Pellish said.
