Biography

I'm a freelance tech journalist with special interests in blockchain, data, AI, education, culture, and futurism. I've been writing professionally since 2014 and plan to continue as long as there's either new tech to cover or old tech to explain. It's a complex world out there and someone needs to bridge the gaps between the technical and the human. I like to think of myself as one of those people. Aside from writing, I teach English as a Foreign Language, take on small graphic design projects, and study data, coding, and economics. I like figuring out new things about how the world works and have a minor obsession with behavioral sciences and self-organizing systems.

  • Even breathing gets old: Impact of ageing on small arteries of the diaphragm

By Andrew Braun, Michael Hill Verified| Wiley Online Library Verified Breathing … it is one of the first and last things we do outside the womb. Striated skeletal muscle comprises 30–40% of total body mass and is generally considered a ‘voluntary’ muscle as its movements are largely controlled consciously through the central nervous system. An exception to this paradigm is the diaphragm, a striated muscle whose contractile activity drives inspiration by lowering intrapleural pressure, leading to expansion of the lung parenchyma and the inhalation of air.
