Sledgehammer’s 2023 release was far from universally popular, yet it may prove to be one of the most interesting Call of Duty releases to look back on in the future. It leaves behind an incredibly complex legacy, being a lesson in how not to release a video game, while also arguably being the best example in how to support a game in franchise history.
