Among the last bills being considered is Senate Bill 625, which would limit how much families using LEARNS Act Education Freedom Account funds can spend on extracurricular activities and transportation. State Sen. Breanne Davis, (R) District 25, who filed the bill, says tighter parameters are needed to prevent potential misuse of taxpayer dollars going to the LEARNS Act voucher program.

  • Witnesses recount night of terror and gunfire at Fifth Avenue Park

(KATV) — What began as a harmless social gathering at Fifth Avenue Park turned into a night of terror when a group of men brandishing firearms arrived, witnesses said. "It was just a whole bunch of dudes up there waving guns around," Tyreca Kallicutt said. "Everybody just standing around like this. Cool. It's not cool at all."The group of four to 10 individuals, possibly from out of town, showed up around sundown, according to those at the party.
