Andy Castillo is the health and food feature writer at the Daily Hampshire Gazette in Northampton, Massachusetts. After traveling the world as a writer for GoNOMAD.com Travel, and reporting for The Greenfield Recorder, Andy returned in 2018 to his hometown newspaper, the Daily Hampshire Gazette. He delivered the Gazette for a number of years as a teenager, weathering its delivery transition from an evening to morning newspaper in 2006. Later, he studied English at the University of Massachsuetts Amherst and sharpened his news writing pen at the student-run newspaper The Massachusetts Daily Collegian. Simultaneously, he learned to meet deadlines by producing television newscasts with WWLP 22News. Outside of work, Andy is working to complete a master's degree in creative nonfiction from Bay Path University by 2019, and can usually be found in local pubs or coffee shops.
