(WMBD) — Motorists urged to avoid the intersection of West Forrest Hill Avenue and North Sheridan Road in Central Peoria after workers struck a gas line Thursday morning. According to an official at the city/county Emergency Dispatch Center, a crew from Illinois American Water Co., was working near that intersection when it struck a gas line. The rupture, it appears, occurred mid-morning Thursday.
