  • Between You & Me - Quiet time refreshes the soul

By Angela Otts| The Advertiser-Gleam Verified How much quiet time do we need? Even a few minutes can make a difference, whether at morning coffee or just before bedtime. I’ve read that our quiet time should be at least 10 minutes to a half hour. Silence is powerful. It helps us to refocus, think creatively, lower the blood pressure, reduce stress, encourage self-reflection and awareness. Silence allows the mind to quiet down and unclutter. Some people want to be constantly on the go. Many don’t understand the value of quiet time.

  • Between You & Me - Daring to share her passion

By Angela Otts| The Advertiser-Gleam Verified I’m being daring and going to teach an art class. It took me a long time to call myself an artist and now I’m going to try my stuff with non-artists. I’m getting a bit anxious about it all but I always try new things. I keep telling myself to teach from the heart. Simple and clear but inspirational. We’ll see how that all works out. These are senior citizen non-artists who know me and what I do. I’ve got to make it fun. Interesting how people say they can’t draw or paint. I remember that time in my life.
