Blockchain and Crypto Writer, Freelance

Biography

My journalism journey began with a few writing tasks on cryptocurrencies in 2017. When I completed these tasks, I was intrigued. I figured that I should specialize in the Blockchain and Crypto niche. So, I searched the web for crypto sites that were hiring and I came across Bitcoin Africa. I promptly sent in my application, and shortly after, the Editor accepted me as a contributor to this site. While attending a crypto event in Nairobi on behalf of Bitcoin Africa, someone told me that a business site called Kenyan Wall Street was looking for a writer. I jumped on this opportunity and soon afterward, I became a Business Writer as well. Through these two opportunities, I learned a lot. I was carrying out interviews, attending press briefings, going to events, and writing a minimum of five articles a day. I was good at it and I was having fun. So, no! You do not need a degree in Journalism to become a Journalist. You can learn by doing as I did! In 2020, I'm still writing for Bitcoin Africa while running a PR and Digital Marketing company. Also, I offer content writing services to both blockchain and non-blockchain companies across the globe. Currently, I am contributing articles to Redeeem's blog. Redeeem is a crypto exchange where you can sell gift cards for crypto. I also publish articles on LinkedIn from time to time. My journalism journey is just beginning, I have a lot planned for the future in terms of increasing awareness in the blockchain and crypto space. That said, I have a B.A in Urban & Regional Planning. It is a profession that is far from what I am currently doing. However, writing was always a hobby of mine since my teen years. Therefore, I am not surprised that I am here today. In fact, I am grateful.
