Late Bronze Age settlement uncovered in Ipswich during project to build new link road between Europa Way and Bramford Road

Remains of a 3,000 year-old settlement were uncovered during a dig while construction of a new route between Europa Way and Bramford Road. The site, from the late Bronze Age, also contains a cremation cemetery with 18 burials, carbon dated to about 1,200 BC.

Last week, Ipswich Borough Council lodged plans to build an art installation in the Cornhill. The portal, in the same vein as the famous one that connected Dublin and New York last year, would connect to another town via 24-hour live stream, allowing people in different parts of the world to interact.
