Ashish Kumar Kataria is a multimedia journalist based out of Haryana, India. He holds a Postgraduate Diploma in Still Photography & Visual Communication from the prestigious AJK Mass Communication Research Centre, Jamia Millia Islamia. Prior to this, he completed a Bachelors of Arts in Journalism & Mass Communication from Amity University. He also holds a minors degree in Tourism Operations and a diploma in Spanish language. Kataria attended the six week intensive documentary workshop held at AKS School of Documentary Photography in Srinagar, Kashmir under the mentorship of Showkat Nanda (2018). He was a part of the new journalism training focused on public interest narrative documentary filmmaking and podcasts conducted by Newsreel Asia (2021). His work has been published in The New Indian Express, The Morning Standard, The Sunday Standard, Express Magazine, Livewire.in, The Citizen, The Patriot, The Siasat Daily, TwoCircles.net among others. Recently, his work was exhibited at Peckham 24 exhibition at Copeland Gallery in London, UK (Sep, 2021), CCLM Santiago, Chile (March 2022). Kataria’s work is in the permanent collection of Victoria & Albert Museum, London. He is skilled in photojournalism, video journalism, reportage, video editing and creative writing. Currently, freelancing with different news organisations, he is always on a lookout to tell impactful stories through visuals and writing. Available for paid projects / commissions.
