Biography
I am a longtime contributing editor at Condé Nast Traveler, where I write feature stories, edit special projects, produce a cruise column about the most interesting people working on the world's best ships, and cover all things related to family and adventure travel. I recently wrapped up a three-month, six-continent RTW solo trip with my toddler, which I documented for the brand via print, web, social media, and a limited-edition newsletter series. I am also the special projects editor for TIME Magazine's World's Greatest Places list and Oprah's Hotel O-Wards. My bylines turn up everywhere though: AFAR, New York Magazine, T: The New York Times Style Magazine, Buy Side from WSJ, Bon Appétit, Dwell, Airbnb, Tripadvisor, Chase Travel, Midwest Living, Artful Living, Esquire, Vanity Fair, and more. I have been featured as a travel expert in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times, New York Post, and Forbes and guested on more than a dozen TV shows, radio programs, and podcasts including including WNBC's "Today in New York," Fox 5's "Good Day New York," Condé Nast Traveler's "Women Who Travel," AFAR's "Unpacked," Bon Appétit's "Foodcast," and Away's "Airplane Mode." I cover luxury travel, adventure travel, mega cities, tiny towns, road trips, cruises, and everything in between. Uzbekistan, Jordan, Sri Lanka, Sierra Leone, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Swedish Lapland rank among my favorite reporting trips in recent years, and I'm always down for an assignment in Turkey or Japan. Minnesota is pretty swell too. (I like it so much, in fact, I moved to the Twin Cities in 2018 and co-launched a website, Minnevangelist, trumpeting its greatness.)
