They may be starting to find solutions for future administrations, as the state House unanimously advanced Senate Bill 145 to Gov. Larry Rhoden for final approval. The bill would require legislative approval for lease contracts that are either 15 years or longer, exceed $5 million in total rent payments over the lease term, or cost more than $50,000 per month.

Larry Rhoden signed a bill Thursday stripping eminent domain authority from companies building carbon pipelines, giving opponents of the Summit Carbon Solutions pipeline a final victory.
