Darren Wolf, 45, was sentenced by District Judge James Kube to 46 months in prison for possession of methamphetamine, third-offense driving under the influence, obstructing a police officer, criminal mischief and false reporting. He faced a maximum sentence of 63 months’ incarceration.

  • Norfolk man sentenced for assaulting pregnant woman, possessing meth

    By Austin Svehla Verified| WJAG-AM (Norfolk, NE) Verified MADISON — A Norfolk man who assaulted an expecting mother while he was under the influence of methamphetamine was denied a request for probation on Thursday in Madison County District Court. Trevor Stattler, 34, was sentenced by District Judge James Kube to three years in prison for third-degree assault of a pregnant woman and attempted possession of meth. With good behavior, Stattler will be eligible after serving 18 months of his sentence. He’d already spent 147 days in jail.

  • Schuyler Elementary School catches fire for second time in as many years

    By Austin Svehla Verified| WJAG-AM (Norfolk, NE) Verified More than 700 students and staff were evacuated from the Schuyler Elementary School on Thursday afternoon when a fire ignited on the roof above the cafeteria. No students or staff were injured in the fire, which was called in shortly before 2 p.m., according to Matt Prochaska, assistant fire chief for the Schuyler Volunteer Fire Department.
