This phenotype suggests a mild loss of melanin. We hypothesized that this phenotype was caused by loss of function of one of five genes: TYRP1, TYRP2, SLC7A11, SLC24A5, and SLC45A2 (Table 1). TYRP1 and TYRP2 encode enzymes involved in synthesizing melanin [87].
