  • Democracy Dies Because We Are Forced To Endure The Chauvinism Of The Wealthy

By B. Lana Guggenheim| Medium@ I shouldn't have to care about a musician's mental illness or bigotry, but thanks to the inordinate amounts of power and reach granted by obscene sums of wealth, a few bigoted men are allowed to leverage their mid-life crisis and/or overall moral rot to broadcast it to all of society. Unfortunately, the consequence of this is that it gives license for the less-powerful bigots next door to expose their bigotry. The Overton Window shifts, and unconscionable bigotry becomes normalized.

  • Boris Johnson Threatens No-Deal Brexit

By B. Lana Guggenheim| South EU Summit (Online) Verified It’s been a very interesting few weeks for Boris Johnson. The UK’s newly minted Prime Minister, keen on seeing Brexit done by October’s end “no matter what”, has been handed nothing but political losses since he took office. Despite the setbacks, Johnson may still end up achieving a no-deal “hard” Brexit come October 31st. European leaders caution against a no-deal Brexit, stating the move is in no one’s best interest.
