Biography

I am a community change-maker from Nigeria. I grew up in a local environment where children had little to no direction of life. We would leave the house half-naked early in the morning to play and only return in the evening for fear that our fathers would be home after the day's work. We had a sense of communal living, but we did not know how to make the best of it since no one was exposed enough to inspire us. The few parents who wanted the best for their children would send them out of town for proper education. I am one of those who had to leave home at an early age. I am a graduate of Law from Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State. While studying Law, I developed a passion for journalism. I was active as a campus journalist and served as President of The Association of Campus Journalists during my last year on campus. Before graduating, I had bylines with The Cable, Foundation for Investigative Journalism, and some local news outlets. After graduating, I resumed a new position with The PUNCH to cover Crime & Judiciary. Apart from special reports and investigative stories, fact-checking is another aspect of journalism that has caught my fancy. The desire to solve the issues rural communities are facing drives me to learn, advocate, and contribute to building a sustainable future for the people. Outside Law and journalism, other areas of interest include social advocacy, community engagements, digital marketing, Google Analytics, and start-up development. My passion is to use my skills and exposure to bring into the limelight several issues bedeviling rural communities, advocate for sustainable policies, and contribute to the lives of people around me. I want my efforts to count. When I am not working, I enjoy cycling, hanging out, reading, and playing football and board games.
