The credit union for Civil First Responders and their families of Washington State and Panhandle of Northern Idaho. Originally a law enforcement credit union since 1966, in 2017 the credit union dynamic changed and with the Board of Director and membership approval, Firefighters and Emergency Medical Service Agencies and their support staff were granted permission to join the credit union. This change also accompanied a name change to reflect the inclusions of the new select employee groups. Thus, Spokane Law Enforcement Credit Union became Responders Emergency Services Credit Union, RESCU for short. The name reflects the inclusion of the first responder community. RESCU is a full-service credit union that offers competitive loan and share rates. While extending personalized member services to many long-time members while accommodating the financial needs of new members and their families. RESCU's has ten employees with over 100 years of experience in finance, banking and credit union experience. RESCU's Board of Directors and Supervisory Committee is made up of active and retired law enforcement, emergency medical services, fire fighter and retired business owner. Credit Union leadership and volunteers are culturally, ethnically and socially diverse.
