m obsessed with experience. It's the only thing we leave the planet with, and our collection of experiences shape our entire lives. You can buy stuff, you can collect things, but what tells your story and fills your life is a collective of experiences. Time is BAM for facebook.jpg the ultimate luxury. Experience is the best currency we've got. The companies I'm interested in and have created thus far are all based around having a certain kind of experience. BAM makes you feel famous. Bite and Nosh are about the experience of food bliss. Pangea Pal is about feeling at home anywhere in the world. So far, I’ve collected a neat array of experiences, too, and I can’t wait for more. Here are a few highlights: I’m a born and raised San Diegan. Although I’ve been to more than 50 countries, I will always have a base in San Diego. When I was 19, I graduated from UCLA in two years rather than the usual four. The University of Pittsburgh took on a dare or otherwise thought a teenager would do well with graduate students typically twice her age, and I graduated with an MBA as the school’s youngest graduate to date. At 21, I knew my “formal” education was done, which meant the real stuff was about to go down. In 2006, I ran my first marathon and came back to San Diego to start working on a TV show and first company, BAM Communications, while working at NBC 7/39. I was fired from NBC and had my show airing by the following week on the competing network, CW. I’m a pain in the ass employee, but if you want your competition destroyed, I’m your best teammate. I produced and hosted a few more TV shows and won an Emmy in 2011, which was nifty. I loved business more than interviewing people who did business, as I knew my love was in building experience-based companies. Thus, I put down the camera stuff to pursue my companies full force. Today, BAM Communications rescues the world’s companies from anonymity everyday, and I’m honored to have the BAMily team run an otherwise demanding client services business. In 2011, I started Bite San Diego, which is now San Diego’s top rated and largest food tour company in the county. In 2013, I created Nosh Las Vegas to bring the food tour concept to Sin City as well as well as Pangea Pal, a platform for travelers to find professional tour guides across the globe. I run every day, I get up at 5am most days, and I love rainbow colored mini pom-poms and lattes by legit coffee roasters like Four Barrel, Bird Rock Coffee Roasters, and Sight glass. I don’t like the word “should.” I read the Economist weekly, about three or four books monthly, and listen to podcasts by This American Life, Savage Love, and The Moth. I think kids are untainted versions of adults before a lot of us get messed up. I’m an ENTJ, that’s “The Executive” in Myers Briggs talk. I relish every experience I can grip onto and whichever won’t physically damage me. Here are my 4 guiding principles in life: 1) Life is an aggregate of chosen experiences. 2) Relationships enhance experiences. 3) Energy is only transferred, not created nor destroyed in everything. 4) Every human is perfect. Every being is not.
