  • Christ Chickens Out on Scheduled Monday Appearances

By Becky O'Malley| Berkeley Daily Planet Verified The Berkeley Daily Planet has learned that UC Berkeley Chancellor Carol Christ has cancelled two scheduled Monday appearances at social clubs in the city of Berkeley. She was scheduled to speak tomorrow afternoon at the Town and Gown Club, a long-time city institution founded in 1898 to bring local and Cal-affiliated women together, though current members are more likely to be “bridge and tunnel” suburbanites.

  • Holy Land Blues. Category: Editorials from The Berkeley Daily Planet

By Becky O'Malley| Berkeley Daily Planet Verified Well, there’s plenty of blame to go around, that’s for sure. This publication and many more are filled with passionate denunciations of Hamas’s brutal invasion of Israel and Israel’s appalling war against the people of Gaza ( most of whom happen to be women, old folks or kids) by both sides. Some opinion writers choose one side to support, but many say a plague on both their houses. Next to my front door there’s a little brown box, like a picture frame with a glass window.
