She eventually found a treatment that worked for her trigeminal neuralgia, sometimes called the "suicide disease." She said she felt like she got her life back. Then her insurance company retroactively denied one of the treatments. "I'd been on it for six months, living life, walking three miles a day with my service dog, and looking forward to my daughter's wedding," Nix said.
