Norfolk’s Yanxi Limonta spotted up from a free kick that was many yards beyond the penalty arc. She did her run up and then all of a sudden the ball was in the back of the net, less than a minute into the game. “That was a heck of a shot from 45,” GISH coach Bryan Ramallo said.

But that was long enough, because on Saturday afternoon Kearney beat Grand Island Senior High 2-1 to get it back. “A little disorganized defensively early in the first half that gave them two quality opportunities which they had a few more than that in the first half. But outside of the two goals they had, there was maybe a couple other times where I felt nervous about them scoring,” GISH coach James Panowicz said.
