By Ben Smith Verified| WHNT-TV (Huntsville, AL) Verified The Weather Authority has issued an *IMPACT DAY* for Thursday afternoon for severe storms. A cold front passage on Thursday will support the development of storms during the afternoon and evening hours. This is likely a damaging wind and large hail threat. The tornado risk is small. The strongest storms that can develop will be able to produce strong winds over 60 mph, isolated flash flooding, frequent lightning, and large hail. Outside of storms, wind gusts of 30 to 35 mph will be possible.

The Storm Prediction Center has a MARGINAL RISK of severe storms (1/5) on Thursday. This will not be a scenario like we had last Saturday night.
