Biography

Out of my love for languages and passion for impacting communities by telling their life-changing stories and advocating for their wellbeing, I trained as a Linguist, Journalist and Corporate Communicator (B.A. in LMC). I have been building a career in journalism and editing, with a keen interest in positive storytelling and solutions journalism. In a world infiltrated and marred with negative energy and questionable, poky narratives, I believe in curating impactful stories that speak to all ears and hearts and tell people's real-life experiences. The more I do it and help others do it, the more I appreciate the power of positive stories and solutions journalism. Being an Afro-optimist, I have always strived to see and narrate the African Story from an all-optimistic perspective, changing the old-age negative narratives and infusing hope and enthusiasm into African hearts. I have curated great content on Health, Education, Climate Change, Book Reviews and other long shelf-life stories you will always enjoy reading. My 110+ articles, all of which are cornerstone content for www.scholarmedia.africa and The Scholar, it's bi-weekly newspaper, have, over time, attracted over 250,000 readers, significantly boosting our readership base and loyalty. Writing and editing are my raison d'être. As an editor, I have been a student of life, especially in leadership (which is a journey). I strategize on the right content, identify stories that matter, share the story leads with our correspondents, and guide them back and forth to come up with stories that stop the scroll. Beyond dotting the i's and crossing the t's, as an editor, I always ask myself and the writers hard questions to add value, context, timeliness, truthfulness and relevance to every line of our every story so that, as you read, you may snatch the best out of them and find value for your time. No wonder people keep coming back to the website for evergreen content! I have also been instrumental in developing and refining our in-depth House Style (cutting across our digital spaces and our bi-weekly newspaper) and other company documents that tell more about Scholar Media Africa. Passion and embracing the right attitude have always been my forte. Learning new skills for professional growth is my Focal Point. I believe in pushing life's boundaries and letting my work blow my 🎺.
