Marcus Whitehead earned the first place honor in the Grade 9 division with his artwork, “Loving and Supporting Each Other.”Catholic students from kindergarten through 12th grade in the Sioux City area competed in the festival, which was held April 8-10 at St. Boniface Parish Hall, in Sioux City.

The students participated in the National History Day (NHD) District Competition on Tuesday, March 11, held at Northwestern College in Orange City, Le Mars Community Middle School TAG Teacher Kathi Oetken said. “All six students who participated advanced to the NHD State Competition which will be held in Ames, on Monday, April 28,” Oetken said.
