Biography
I'm Bhromor Rahman, and I'm a 23-year-old Masters of Laws student at the University of Sherbrooke and hold a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Ottawa. I am a professional journalist and assistant to Professor Dave Guénette at the University of Sherbrooke Faculty of Law. I've been writing for publications professionally in various fields since 2019. I started writing for in my college newspaper Marianopolis World Review where I then became editor-in-chief. I was later hired at The Game Crater in 2020, an independent gaming publication where I spent over a year writing on a variety of issues and was even invited to cover live events. I was later recruited by Anime News Network in 2021, and then by Valnet in 2022 to write for their Game Rant website, then later their Comic Book Resources website in 2023. I held the position of Associate Editor of the UOttawa General Law Review in 2023-2024. Since 2023, I have been a professional panelist at several conventions and conferences such as Otakuthon, Anime North and G-Anime presenting the findings of various research projects in the field of entertainment and Video Game Law alongside Professor Thomas Burelli whom I worked for as a research assistant at UOttawa.

By Bhromor Rahman| CBR Verified Video games are a form of interactive entertainment that has existed for decades. As such, it's not surprising that they are subject to legal frameworks, whether legislation, jurisprudence, legal doctrine, or other regulations. However, while laws may be enough to cover most video game-related concerns, there inevitably comes a time when they don't, or are ambiguous, at the very least. That's when the courts step in.
By Bhromor Rahman| CBR Verified When Sword Art Online first hit the scene in 2012, it spurred on a new wave of Isekai that is going stronger than ever today. The anime introduced the medium to gamers with its virtual reality MMORPG setting and video game themes overall. Despite its critical success, the original show came under heavy criticism for shortcomings in several aspects, notably its shoddy pacing and bland main character, Kirito.
By Bhromor Rahman| CBR Verified In the modern day, there are so many anime franchises to choose from that it's hard to decide what to watch, even for veterans. Time being of the essence, the likes of Naruto, Bleach, or One Piece may be prohibitively long to start watching from the beginning in between two shifts or two classes. Yet, it can be surprising to find that an anime doesn't need long narratives or full-length episodes to be an enjoyable experience.
