For the past 21 years, Lozoya and a handful of promotoras (certified community health workers) have provided a hot lunch, a clothing bank, school supplies and shoes for the less fortunate in the border town. Palomas sits 35 miles from Deming and Lozoya is reaching out to the Deming community with her annual Tree of Hope.
