Freelance writer Bill Meredith started writing the local music column in the TGIF section in April of 2001, and added a career as a sports writer beginning in December of 2006. He also writes for the international music magazines JazzTimes and Jazziz, and started a career as a musician as well as a journalist in the mid-1980s.
