Surveys by the Legislature, teachers' unions and state education officials indicate discipline is a top priority for teachers. “The legislation creates a streamlined process for K-to-12 teachers when dealing with violent student behavior,” Gov. Patrick Morrisey said.

It appears West Virginia Highway 68, a key road between Ravenswood and Parkersburg, along the dam north of Ravenswood would be at risk, but no homes are in harm’s way. The DNR says the dam holding back 15 acres of water no longer meets state safety laws. Two proposals are being considered.
