The season, realistically, had been lost over a month ago at this point, and the plan moving forward? To aggressively retool. A rebuild wasn’t on the table. Instead, they were going to fill holes in their lineup and put themselves back in the playoff picture.
By Brad Keffer| Broad Street Hockey@ Here we are again: another ten-game losing streak. Another season all but down the drain, after an off-season full of changes that were supposed to re-shape the identity of this team. As if the Flyers were a written drama, the character that you thought had been killed off at the end of last season has reappeared, and old storylines begin again. In many ways, this team feels directionless.

The Columbus Dispatch is a historic daily newspaper based in Columbus, Ohio, and has been serving the community since its founding on July 1, 1871. As the city’s longest-running newspaper, it has documented significant events in local and national history for over 150 years. The Dispatch has evolved from its original conservative editorial stance to a more centrist approach, particularly noted during the 2016 election. The newspaper provides comprehensive coverage of local politics, business, sports, and culture, including Ohio State University athletics. It also maintains a searchable historical archive dating back to 1871, accessible through partnerships with local libraries. Special features include the popular “Cook’s Corner†recipe exchange column and a variety of comics and cartoons. In 2023, Gannett Co. donated the Dispatch’s photo archive to the Columbus Metropolitan Library for digitization, further enhancing public access to its historical content.
