• NC State University hurricane prediction calls for 12-15 named storms in 2025

  By Brandon Girod| Yahoo Verified Another 2025 Atlantic hurricane season prediction, this time from researchers at North Carolina State University, further cements previous forecasts’ claims of an average-to-above-average year. NC State University predicts that the Atlantic basin, which encompasses the Atlantic Ocean as well as the Gulf and Caribbean, will see 12-15 named storms, putting it just below Colorado State University’s prediction of 17 named storms and roughly in line with AccuWeather’s call of 13 to 18.
