The Trojans competed at the Byron Center Bulldog Games Invite and came away with a third-place finish. Sturgis scored 87 points and finished with several Top 3 placements. Eleena Kelley was second overall in the discus at 121 feet, 4 inches. This distance makes her the first Trojan early qualifier, guaranteeing her a spot at the state finals.

The weekly athlete of the week award is being presented by Glen Oaks Community College. It's obviously very popular, as you have no doubt seen and participated in, I'm sure. Last week, Jennaya Decker of Three Rivers won the athlete of the week poll with 7,873 total votes.
