Located just off of Highway 45 near Frankstown, the story of the park began in 1991 when Booneville High School teacher Patsy Johnson obtained a grant from the National Science Foundation for students to study the enormous concentration of prehistoric fossil unearthed during the construction of four-lane Highway 45.
