Tonight, around sunset, a rare comet will be visible along the horizon in the western sky. Tsuchinshan-ATLAS, a once-in-80,000-years sight, will pass within 44 million miles of Earth, making it watchable with the naked eye in Maryland and much of the northern hemisphere. The comet will make its pass just after sunset, which is at 6:31 p.m. Saturday.

• Frederick County hunter pleads guilty to poaching, ordered to pay restitution

  By Brett Barrouquere Verified| The Baltimore Banner Verified A Frederick County man pleaded guilty Thursday to illegally killing a white-tailed deer during a closed season and will pay $6,000 in fines and restitution. Judge Richard Sandy ordered Michael Hines to pay $5,000 to the State Wildlife Management and Protection Fund for conservation efforts and a $1,000 fine for illegally harvesting a trophy deer. Hines must also serve 80 hours of community service.
