Dallas had previously been selected to host the CFP championship game on Jan. 22, 2029, but couldn’t because of scheduling conflicts, sources said. Tampa, Phoenix and Houston were previously selected as back-up sites to host a future national title game if the CFP’s original selected cities were not available.
