By Brian Kennedy| LA Car Verified “It never rains in Southern California, but girl, don’t they warn you….” I don’t know what the warning was, but the first part of that old song lyric is certainly a lie. It rains in SoCal. Sometimes, it rains a lot. With that prediction in mind, NASCAR scuttled their plans for a two-day racing and superstars-of-entertainment extravaganza at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on the weekend. Instead, they squeezed as much excitement as they could into a day, Saturday, that stretched well into the night.
By Brian Kennedy| LA Car Verified Wanna see the new cars out there? Don’t go to the LA Auto Show expecting that as an outcome. If you like SUVs and their various derivatives, or anything electric, you’re in luck. And let’s face it—if the market didn’t demand that kind of conveyance, the manufacturers would offer something else. But it’s a truck and electric world, and an electric truck world, that’s today’s automotive reality. So if you go to this show looking for an actual new car to buy, you’re not going to find a lot to peruse.

LA Car
LA CAR began in 1997 as an online magazine about the LA car culture and has since then evolved into an automotive journal serving the greater LA area. While it remains deeply rooted in this motor city, LA Car's reports, reviews, and essays appear in the Huffington Post affiliate; Patch, Yahoo News, and other media sources that reach an audience far beyond Los Angeles. Our body of work includes automotive product reviews, an automotive event calendar, directories, consumer tips, information on car laws, and articles on car design, car performance, automotive history, the new hot rod culture, and other items of interest to Angelinos with or without an enthusiasm for cars.
